A high-speed chase near Oswego forced people out of their homes and the car ended up crashing at the Village Hall. A trooper saw a stolen car yesterday on Route 104 in the Village of México. When the trooper tried to pull the car over, the driver took off and lost control near the center of the village. Police say the car hit a guardrail and went airborne over a creek before crash landing at the Village Hall. The village clerk was inside at the time but she wasn't hurt. The crash caused a gas line to break -- so nearby homes were evacuated until the gas could be shut off. Police say the driver is expected to survive his injuries. Charges are pending.
